Varicocele
What is varicocele?
It is the enlargement and/or dilatation of the veins in the spermatic cord (scrotum). Similar to a varicose vein in the leg.
This disease can cause the testicles not to develop normally.
Up to 30% of patients with varicocele suffer infertility. It has a tendency to occur on the left side.

Symptoms
- Pain, but the pain varies from sharp to mild discomfort.
- Pain may increase when standing or exerting yourself, particularly over long periods of time.
- Pain gets worse during the course of the day.
- Sensation of heaviness.
- The visual appearance has been described as similar to a “bag of worms”.
